  • Welcome!

    I'm so happy you're here!

I'm Lauren, and at my roots, I'm a Southern girl with lots of love for my hometown, big cups of coffee, family breakfasts on Saturday morning, and college football. My family has lived all over the Southeast, but I was born in and have spent the majority of my life in North Carolina, and it's a place I'm so proud to call home. Currently, my business is based in Raleigh, NC, but I'll travel just about anywhere!

You'll get to know me best by wandering through these pages of photographs, but I'll get to know you best over coffee or (my personal favorite) pie! Don't hesitate to drop me a line if you have any questions, or even if you just want to say hello. I can't wait to meet you!

Music Monday | The Band Perry

What a wonderful Mother’s Day weekend it was around here!  On Saturday, I helped Amanda shop for her firstborn’s crib, and we found a beautiful one at Target that I think will just look gorgeous with the decor she has in mind!  She’s showing just enough to make it seem real now, but I know the second half of her pregnancy will just fly by!

And on Sunday, I got to celebrate my own mama and even sleep in my old bed at my parents’ house Saturday night, which was the. best.  Dad told me it made Mom so happy to wake up in the morning and have a “chickie in the nest!”  Plus, the coffee and toast are always hot at Mama’s house!  We had a wonderful time at church and enjoyed lunch outside, and of course before I left, I got some words of wisdom on the front porch, which was just what I needed.  I’m so very blessed to have a mom who always loves, always supports, and always puts everybody else first, even on her day.  Which is why I think this song suits her just perfectly (and, for the record, would be a fabulous choice for a mother-son reception dance. I think the mobile version is struggle-bussing it today, so you’ll have to listen to it on your computer or listen to the iTunes sample here: https://itunes.apple.com/us/album/pioneer/id61544377).

I love you, Mama!  You are the sun to my shine!

Amanda & Nick’s Gender Reveal Party

You may remember Amanda and Nick from last fall, or you may remember Amanda from the thousands of times I’ve gushed about her on this blog and pretty much every other blog I’ve had before this!  Well, back in late January, a bunch of us were over at a friend’s house to watch the UNC – NC State basketball game, when Amanda pulled me into a nearby room and whispered that she was PREGNANT!!!  I think the next thing she had to do was cover my mouth because she and Nick were trying to keep it quiet for a few more weeks, but I was just SO excited!  In some ways, it seems like they just got married, but it’ll be three years in December.  So much has changed since then, but in ten years, Amanda has remained my best friend and the one I’ll always, always turn to for a guaranteed belly laugh!  My family considers her one of their own, and I truly can’t describe my teenager-hood without mentioning her.

One of my favorite things about Amanda is her unwavering optimism and her excitement for the next adventure.  She’s always chasing the next big achievement, climbing the next ladder, and not only pushing herself, but those around her (which usually means her little elementary school music students)!  And when I toasted them at their wedding, I remember telling Nick how very, very special he should feel for being the one she wanted to stick by through it all.  To be her one constant.  And now, with a baby on the way, a world of new adventures just opened up!  I’m so excited to walk through this season of their life with them and to welcome baby Bailey in just five months.  In case you don’t know yet, scroll down to find out what they’re having, and if you already know, enjoy these pictures from one of the most exciting days in their lives!

Cue the nursery decorating!

Wordy Thursday | Molly & Brad’s Wedding Invitation Suite

Well, I may be one day late posting this, but today, I thought it would be fun to share with you my very first adventure into the crazy, beautiful world of wedding invitation design!  It’s not something I do often or even in an organized way, but since my business has really given me the opportunity to learn a lot more about graphic design and all the amazing, overwhelming, eye-popping things that the Adobe Creative Suite can do and since Molly and Brad were only engaged for three months, I decided to put something fun together and see what she thought.  And (lucky for me) she loved it!  It’s more of a privilege than you can even imagine to help put together something you know a couple is going to share with their nearest and dearest.

If I’m being honest, my favorite part of it is the “Capital Ideas” card… I just love how the Lincoln Memorial turned out, and I’m so Type A when it comes to planning and logistics that I knew it would make everyone’s lives a lot easier!

And, for those of you who have been begging for a sneak peek at their wedding pictures, here you go!  I promise not to keep you waiting too long!

Music Monday | Sugar & the Hi-Lows

I know, I know… three Music Mondays in a row and no pictures!  It’s a travesty.  But not really, because the reason I haven’t posted any pictures recently is that I’ve been too busy TAKING them!  I kid you not, I took pictures for FOUR different groups of people this weekend, each just as fun as the next!  So, I’ll definitely be doing a sneak preview this week!

For today though, I’m gonna introduce you to a duo that my dearest friend, Molly, got me hooked on a couple years ago, just because I love them and because she got married this past weekend!  Woo to the hoo!  Hope y’all are having a fab start to your week and don’t worry, the lovelies are coming soon!

Music Monday | Regina Spektor

I don’t know about your area, but here in Raleigh, it’s just a teensy bit gross outside!  Kinda drippy rain and a tish bit cold, definitely not the kind of weather that makes you hop out of bed!  So, today’s Music Monday is just a sweet little Regina Spektor song that totally makes you want to sit in a window seat and watch the rain fall, but in a cozy, good way.  It was originally written by John Lennon, so you might recognize it, but she covered it for a charity album a few years ago, and I think it’s just spectacular.  Perfect for a nighttime reception, especially during the dinner hour.

Y’all enjoy!
